Energy Consumption
All General Cable facilities use a combination of electric power, natural gas, fuel oil and propane to transport materials, heat and light our facilities, generate steam and operate production equipment.
Electrical Power
Electric power usage is reported in kWh (kilowatt hours). A kilowatt hour is 1,000 watts of consumption for one hour. Electric bills are typically measured in kilowatt hours or joules, which can be converted to kilowatt hours.

Natural Gas

Propane (LPG)
Propane and liquefied petroleum gas (also called LPG, GPL, LP Gas, or autogas) are used as fuel in our General Cable facilities in heaters or to power forklifts and mobile equipment. It is reported in cubic meters.
